Flower

Today I'd like to share the pattern to make this little amigurumi flower. I think it is the perfect companion for "Mellow, the bee bear", that was the root of it's creation but then it can also be a quick and cute project on its own.
To make a flower you'll need a 3 mm crochet hook, stuffing, tapestry needle and DK yarn: green for the stem, yellow for the center and wathever color for the petals, optional for the face: 6 mm safety eyes, black embroidery floss for the mouth and a bit of pink yarn for the cheeks.

ABBREVIATIONS (U.S.):

R: round
ch: chain
{...} work into the same stitch
**: repeat to the end of round
[...] total stitches at the end of round

CENTER:

With yellow.

We'll make two circles, when we finish the second one don't cut the yarn.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: *sc inc* [12]
R3: *1 sc, sc inc* [18]
R4: 18 sc [18]

If we want to make a face now is the time, we'll place the safety eyes, embroider a little mouse with black and the cheeks with pink.

Place the cricles facing each other and work 18 sc around both of them, place a small amount of stuffing before you finish.

PETALS:

With your chosen petals color.

Join yarn in any stitch of the center.

FIRST PETAL: 2 ch, 1 dc in same st as ch, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, 2 ch, 1 sl st in same st as last dc
SECOND TO LAST PETAL: 1 sl st in next st, 2 ch, 1 dc in same st as sl st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, 2 ch, 1 sl st in same st as last dc

Break yarn, secure and hide loose ends.

STEM:

Stuff well the stem until abour R11.

With green.

R1: 8 sc in mr
R2- 13: 8 sc [8]
1 ch, flatten the piece and close it up with 4 sc.

Break yarn leaving enough for sewing.

Sew stem to the center of the flower.
