Gingerbread Puppy Crochet Amigurumi Free Pattern

 
 

 
A gingerbread man's best friend is a gingerbread dog.
Yarn dk: brown, white, red, a little of pink and a little of dark brown; crochet hook 3 mm, safety eyes 6 mm, stuffing, tapestry needle.
 
The finished doll is going to measure 11 cm / 28 inch approx.

HEAD:

With brown.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: *sc inc* [12]
R3: *1 sc, sc inc* [18]
R4: *2 sc, sc inc* [24]
R5: *3 sc, sc inc* [30]
R6: *4 sc, sc inc* [36]
R7-12: 36 sc [36]
R13: *4 sc, sc dec* [30]

Place the eyes between R10-11, leaving four stitches in between them.

R14: *3 sc, sc dec* [24]
R15: *2 sc, sc dec* [18]
R16: *1 sc, sc dec* [12]
R17: *sc dec* [6]

Cut the yarn. Tie off.
 

 
SNOUT:

With white.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: *sc inc* [12]

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.

With brown yarn embroider a nose (I made a horizontal line but you can do what you like) between R1-2 of the snout.

Sew snout between R10-15 centered between the eyes.

With pink yarn add some blush by making a horizontal line between R12-13 at the side of each eye.

 


 
EARS:

Make two.

Start with white.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: *1 sc, sc inc* [9]

Change color to brown.

R3: *2 sc, sc inc* [12]
R4: 12 sc [12]
R5: 3 sc, sc dec, 3 sc, sc dec, 2 sc [10]
R6: 1 ch, turn, flatten the piece and close it with 5 sc

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.

Sew ears between R7-8.
 

 

BODY:

With brown.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: *sc inc* [12]
R3: *1 sc, sc inc* [18]
R4: *2 sc, sc inc* [24]
R5: *3 sc, sc inc* [30]
R6-8: 30 sc [30]
R9: *3 sc, sc dec* [24]
R10-11: 24 sc [24]
R12: *2 sc, sc dec* [18]
R13: 18 sc [18]

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.
 

 

FRONT LEGS:

Make two.

Stuff very VERY lightly at the beginning.

Start with brown.

R1: 8 sc in mr

Change color to white.

R2: 8 sc [8]

Change back to brown.

R3: 8 sc [8]
R4: 1 sc, sc dec, 2 sc, sc dec, 1 sc [6]
R5: 1 ch, turn, flatten and close up with 3 sc

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.

Sew legs between R8-9, leave one stitch in between them.
 

 

BACK LEGS:

Make two.

Start with brown.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: *sc inc* [12]

Change color to white.

R3: 12 sc [12]

Change back to brown.

R4: 12 sc [12]

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.

Sew back legs between R4-8, next to each front leg.
 


TAIL:

Start with white.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2-3: 6 sc [6]

Change to brown.

R4-5: 6 sc [6]

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.

Sew the tail between R4-6, in the center back of the puppy.

Now, sew the head to the body.
 

 

COLLAR:

With white.

23 ch
R1: 5 sc, (2 sc, 2 ch, sl st on first ch) x5, 7 sc

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.

Sew the collar where head meets body with the ends meeting at the back.
 

 

HAT:

With red.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: 6 sc [6]
R3: *2 sc, sc inc* [8]
R4: 8 sc [8]
R5: *3 sc, sc inc* [10]
R6: 10 sc [10]
R7: *4 sc, sc inc* [12]
R8: 12 sc [12]
R9: *3 sc, sc inc* [15]
R10: 15 sc [15]
R11: *4 sc, sc inc* [18]
R12: 18 sc [18]
R13: *2 sc, sc inc* [24]
R14: 24 sc [24]
R15: *3 sc, sc inc* [30]
R16: *4 sc, sc inc* [36]

Change to white.

R20-21: 40 sc [40]

Cut yarn, secure and hide loose ends.
 

 

HAT BALL:

Stuff a little bit.

With white.

R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: *1 sc, sc inc* [9]
R3: 9 sc [9]
R4: *1 sc, sc dec* [6]

Cut yarn leaving enough for sewing.

Close the ending gap of the ball, then sew it to the start of the hat.
 
Now, you'll want to fold your hat at about R9-10, grab a piece of red yarn and sew a few stitches to keep it like that.
