Mini backpack Amore

Double Valentine's Day special, besides the "Valentine's Day bear", another free pattern to celebrate the occasion by Hi Sheep to make this mini backpack. I used a 4 mm crochet hook and DK yarn: pink 80 gr and red. "Mini backpack Amore" measures about 18 cm / 7 inch wide and 21 cm / 8,2 inch long.
Let's begin!

BOTTOM PORTION:

Turn your piece inside out.
Working in rounds.

R1: place 48 sc as evenly as possible around the main piece [48]
R2: 48 sc [48]

Here we'll place the straps as follows (you could not do it like this and just sew them after)

R6: 8 sc, (sc dec) x2, 17 sc, (sc dec) x2, 9 sc [38]
R7: 10 sc to get to a "corner"

Now, turn your piece inside out again so you are working from the inside.
Close the opening with 1 sl st in each st
Break yarn. Secure and hide loose ends.

TOP PORTION:

Working from the outside of your piece (all of the closings we made should be on the inside)

R1: place 48 sc as evenly as possible around the top of main piece [48]
R2: 3 ch, skip 1 st, 1 hdc, 1 ch, *1 hdc, 1 ch, skip 1 st* sl st in top of second beginning ch
R3: 1 sc in each st [48]

Break yarn secure and hide loose ends.

Now sew the other end of the straps.

Make a chain about 40 cm / 15,7 inch long. Break yarn.
Weave your chain in and out through the chain spaces of the top portion.

HEART APPLIQUE:

With red.

Make three.

11 ch
R1: sc inc, 3 sc, skip 2 ch, 3 sc, 3 sc in same ch, continue on the opposite side of ch: 4 sc, 2 ch, 5 sc, 1 sl st in the first st of R
R2: 1 ch, 1 sc in same st as last sl st, 3 sc, skip 2 st, 3 sc, 3 sc in same st, 6 sc, 2 ch, 7 sc, 1 sl st in first st of R
