Ami (knit) - gurumi (doll)
It's one of the oldest type of japanese crafts that consists of knitting small dolls using crochet techniques. The ancestors of modern japanese believed that these dolls helped the people to protect their homes and used them as amulets.
It's main objetive is to keep awake the child spirit that we have inside, since according to tradition, each amigurumi has a soul that will make them a life partner for their owner.
