Let's crochet a nutcracker for christmas but make it a bear! I made two bears in different colors, in pastel tones because I thought it'd be cute but you can always go with the usual red and green colors too!
It is a pretty and small project, suitable for beginners. Hope you like it!

I didn't stuff them because they held the shape pretty good as it is but if you feel they need stuffing do so just lightly at the beginning.

Cut the yarn leaving a long tail. With a tapestry needle use this tail to close the gap we have left, then pull the yarn through the inside of the piece and take it out between R3-4. Leave it like that until after we attach the drumsticks.
Now, embroider some decorations if you want. I made more "V" shapes all around, from below the loop of R3 to above the loop of R5 in height and have about one stitch separating each V.
Continue to the drumsticks.

DRUMSTICKS:
With white.
Make two.

Cut yarn, leave a tail long enough for sewing.
Knot the beginning of the chain, we want the knot to be kind of big so it looks like a very small ball. Once you've done that, cut the excess yarn as close as posible.
Now, grab the tail from the end and with a tapestry needle you are going to weave it through the back bumps of the chain, carefully trying to not let the chain get scrunched up. You will do this for two or three bumps, to take the yarn to about the middle of the chain and then you can use this tail to attach your tiny drumstick to the top of the drum.
To finish the drum, we need to make the strap, so for that we are going to use the tail we left.
You will need to try this on your bear and measure how long you need your strap to be. Once you know the length you will leave, attach the other end of the tail opposite where it comes out between R3-4 of the drum.
With white.
